Law of Attraction Blog Post and Abraham Hicks, Allowing leads to Receiving : The Case of the Kitten
Well, how to start this off. I just wanted to share an example of the Law of Attraction with you guys. I have been living my life according to the principles of the Law of Attraction for a little while now and to be honest, it has changed the way I approach every day. So,here is an example of using Law of Attraction to your benefit!
If anyone is not aware, the basis of the Law of Attraction as I understand it (very, very simply put ) is this:
Spend your life focusing on what it is you want. This sounds very simple and, in principle it is but there a few things you need to make sure you are doing to make this effective (most of this info comes from Abraham Hicks allowing workshops).
1. Most importantly you must put the things you want in positive terms. If you do not want an illness, do not, do not, do not, under any circumstances phrase it like that!!! Rather focus on good health, focus on wellness. The Universe does not understand no, or nots, so if you focus on illness that is what it will give you.
2. Visualize what you want with real clarity, in the beginning it is probably best to focus on one thing at the time; if you send the Universe mixed messages, you will get mixed results!!
3. Finally, be happy while you are doing this exercise. The Universe responds to positive and negative emotion so you need to think positively about what you desire, be happy, be excited, feel joy!! If you cannot feel any of these emotions about what you desire than maybe it is your inner guidance system telling you that you do not want it after all!! I use spending time on the beach and with my kitten (getting to him in a minute!) to get me in the mood for this.
Genuinely believe you can get whatever it is that you want. Believe it and expect it. If you want a million dollars but do not believe it is attainable then it is not likely you will get it. Here are another couple of things to watch out for:
1. You need to consider your beliefs or assumptions and how they impact on your ability to expect. Like for example, if you believe the only way money can come to you is through your business then that is the only way it can. This means you are really limiting the ways you can receive.
2. The other thing to watch out for is trying too hard. Yes, we have all been told that we have to struggle hard to make anything of ourselves, but this just is not the case. By making your intentions clear and expecting them, you are pre-paving the circumstances that will bring you what you most desire.
So anyway, after that, we get on to the real point of this post! A few weeks ago I was sitting around with my husband and a friend, it was an absolutely perfect day. We have been blessed enough to live in Honduras, next to the beach, so our afternoon was literally some good finger, linkin chicken from the BBQ, good beer (probably one too many) and a wonderful view.
Since we arrived here about 11 months ago, we have adopted 3 dogs who came across our paths and were in need of a good home. We have been thinking about extending the family (we do have frogs, iguanas and lots of geckos in the house, but I have been told a few times that they do not count as pets!), so we decided to put forward ideas about what type of animal to adopt next. The first words that came to my husband’s mouth was a kitten; this surprised me as he is not particularly a cat person (neither am I); myself and our friend went for the options of a monkey and a pig (the last one is still an intention!!).
So the next day, we were visiting a farm in the middle of no-where (and in Honduras the middle of no-where is totally, totally isolated) for another beautiful, relaxing day in the sun. The farm was amazing, with waterfalls, a beautiful beach and lots of hammocks! The farm was also full of animals and among them was the most beautiful, playful kitten you can imagine.
I need to emphasise again, I am not a cat person but as soon as my husband and I saw this kitten it just felt right and I fell in love with him on the spot and asked the guy who owned the farm if we could take him home (I have to admit I thought he was a girl for the first week, so he has the slightly girly name of Fuzzy!).
So anyway, my point is the intention was set forth with positive emotion and expectation that it would happen and guess what…it did!
I hope that this story of desire manifesting into your life is helpful and can help you realise that if you focus on what you want and believe it, you can receive it!!
